Australia’s security burden-sharing

On this week’s episode of Conversations with Nicholas Kralev, the Australian ambassador to Washington, Kim Beazley, talks about his country’s “massive burden-sharing” in the diplomacy and security of the Asia-Pacific.

He discusses the Obama administration’s “pivot” to the region, and the importance of Southeast Asia in particular for the world economy.

Beazley, a former member of the Australian parliament who has held several ministerial posts, also talks about his transition to international diplomacy after 27 years in domestic politics.
